Trip to Boise

This week we made a unexpected trip to Boise for Todd's aunts funeral,

Anne Sullivan, 69, of Nampa, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2009 after a valiant fight with throat cancer. Anne Sullivan was born Aug. 29, 1939 to Cecil and Alta Durrant in Bozeman, Mont. She was raised and educated in Jerome, Idaho. She attended Ricks College, majoring in business. She worked in Salt Lake City, Utah. Anne was talented in music and could really make her saxophone sing throughout her Jr. High and High School years; playing in band, pep band, playing solos and with the dance orchestra. Anne married her high school sweetheart, Don Sullivan, March 17, 1960 in Elko, Nev. Their marriage was solemnized in the Boise LDS Temple on Dec. 6, 2003. They are active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Anne and Don were blessed with two children, Brent and Shelley. They lived in Vancouver, Wash., Pocatello, Idaho. Minneapolis, Minn. and Phoenix, Ariz. before settling in Nampa, Idaho. She enjoyed being a wife and mother. She did return to her secretarial career with the Boise Fire Dept. which gave her great satisfaction for 23 and 1/2 years before retiring on Nov. 30, 2001. Anne and Don lived on a 20 acre farm for 20 years. They enjoyed watching the crops grow and be harvested. With the help of wonderful neighbors, they farmed and raised their crops. Because of Don's failing health, they sold the farm and built their current home in town, which they have enjoyed. Don and Anne enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating with family and friends. The family learned how to water ski, but Don was better at driving the boat and not skiing. Anne even learned how to water ski. Brent, Shelley and friends were always ready to go camping with mom and dad. Having family outings was always a good way to control the teenagers. In later years, Don and Anne fished for Salmon at Ilwaco, Wash. We loved to visit historical sites such as the church history trip that we drove to Palmyra, N.Y. and back; New Orleans, La.; Orlando, Fla.; Branson, Mo.; Western Caribbean Cruise; 11 day cruise to Hawaiian Islands; drove the Al-Can Highway to Alaska and etc. Anne is survived by her loving husband, Donald, her children: Shelley (Robert) Davis, and son, Brent Sullivan and children; Cody, Dayne, Kasey and Stepson, Ryan Vale, daughter-in-law, Sheila (Steve) Maupin and children, Amanda (Ryan) Maxey and Aaron Anderson, Britney Anderson, her mother, Alta (Russell) Woolley, of Jerome, Idaho, her siblings: Tom (Bonnie) Durrant, Gordon (Colleen) Durrant, Marlene (Rod) Jenks, all of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Dean Durrant, Pocatello and Larry (Lezlie) Durrant, Logan, Utah. She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Durant and stepson, Randy Anderson.

It was a sad reason to go to Boise but it was really nice to see all the family. We know that Aunt Anne is in a better place and out of pain. She was well loved and will be missed greatly.
While we were in Boise I was able to get a four generation picture of Todds moms side of the family, in this picture is Kadee, Grandma Jenks, Great Grandma Woolley, Todd and Rylan. This was Grandma Woolley's first time meeting Rylan and I just wanted to get a picture of them all together because you never know how much time you have left with the ones you love.

Beside the sad reason why we went to Boise, we did have a good time, I met a lot of Todds family that I have never met before and our little family was able to enjoy some much needed time together.

On the way to the cemetery Kadee was being a nerd and singing songs in her own version, I was trying to make a video of her without having to turn around in my seat, sorry if its a little sloppy, I had the camera behind my head and couldn't see what I was doing.
